About this workshop

This workshop covers the Employability Skills in Delivery and Assessment activities and their relationship with the AQTF.

The inclusion of Employability Skills in a competency-based training consolidate our training system as a full range of transferable skills, attitudes and behavior required for successful participation in the workplace.

Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are increasingly asking for Employability Skills of their staff, and as a result trainers and assessors need to know what these skills are and how to demonstrate them. In order to achieve and maintain successful employment outcomes, trainers and assessors need to demonstrate competency in Employability Skills required in the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification.

Aims

By participating in this workshop, participants will:

 

Understand the reasons behind the introduction of the Employability Skills in National Training Packages and their relationship with the Industry;

Understand the facets and framework of Employability Skills;

Recognise and practice Employability Skills specified for the needs of a trainer and assessor;

Contextualise: communication, teamwork, problem solving, initiative and enterprise, planning and organizing, self-management, learning, and technology skills to the trainer and assessor job environment;

Unpacking Employability Skills;

Understand the relationship between Employability Skills and AQTF;

Who should attend?

RTO managers, RTO Consultants, Directors of studies, Program coordinators, Academic managers, Compliance managers, Head trainers, trainers, assessors and any relevant VET professionals.

There are no pre-requisites for this workshop.

About the facilitator

Javier Amaro Castillo
 

Javier is the CEO of Insources Education. He has been involved in training and assessment in Australia and overseas for more than 15 years, developing different curriculum for the Business Industry. Javier experience in the Australian's VET sector includes the roles of on-the-job and off-the-job trainer, Compliance Manager, Director and RTO consultant. Javier maintains active membership with relevant professional associations such as: Australian Institute of training and Development, Australian Institute of Management, American Society of Training and Development, Executive Member of The Marketing Association of Australia and New Zealand and Australian Council for Private Education and Training.

Javier has published several articles for VET stakeholders and maintains an Education Blog .

With University and Vocational degrees in Education, Engineering, Auditing, Business Management and Marketing, Javier's vision is to contribute to the continuous improvement of the VET sector by aligning quality management systems with educational practices.
