If you are considering setting up an RTO, you need to talk to us.
Insources can help you to register your business as an RTO, right from the beginning through to the final step of the process.
Insources is a leading Australian VET consulting firm, and our consultants are specialists in compliance and training requirements. Since 2004, we have helped more than 20,000 individuals from more than 500 organisations with compliance, training and evaluation projects.
We are not just another consulting firm; we are well-established thought leaders in the Australian VET sector. We have an impeccable 100% success rate with initial RTO registrations, but most importantly, 95% of our clients are still operating a quality RTO today.
Eliminate the fear factor and paperwork headache
Becoming an RTO is a complex process, and the National Regulator ASQA will apply a rigorous assessment process when considering your application. Insources’ consultants will make this process simple and cost effective for you, by establishing the evidence required, how to prepare and present documents, and provide an action plan that is easy to follow to successfully complete the application.
The RTO’s initial registration is a four-step process:
- Planning and coaching
- Governance and Administration Systems
- Training and Assessment Strategies and resources
- Audit and Registration.
Planning and coaching. During this phase, our consultants will work with you to establish the intended scope of registration, delivery structure and marketing strategy. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead we design and create a customised action plan for your project with all required tasks and milestones.
Up to three individuals from your organisation will be nominated for the Initial registration with ASQA Certification Training Program.
Governance and Administration Systems. The focus of this phase is to develop the RTO’s business plan, financial plan, and supporting evidence such as: business structure, policies and procedures, executive officers, managerial staff, RTO location, physical resources, and trainers and assessors.
Our consultants will support you during this process to gather evidence and develop required documents. We will provide you with a full set of policies and procedures that will be customised for your own RTO.
At this point a suitable Student Management System, and any other platform required to deliver training (online systems if required), will be identified for you.
The application is submitted online (asqanet), before we move to the next stage.
Training and Assessment Strategies and resources. We are now 6-10 weeks from your initial registration site audit. During this phase, we will finalise all learning and assessment materials to be audited. Assessment tools are validated and your marketing materials, including your website, are reviewed and updated if necessary. Your other staff members are expected to have completed the Certification Training Program before stage four.
Our consultants will conduct a mock audit and provide further coaching to prepare for ASQA’s onsite audit.
Audit and Registration. One of our experienced consultants will be part of your team during the site audit. Our consultant will support you so you understand the requirements from the auditor, and to present the required evidence to demonstrate compliance.
After the audit, we help you to address any additional information ASQA’s auditor may request, and we’ll follow it through to the end. At the end of this phase, you will be listed as an RTO on the training.gov.au website.
What is not included in this service?
- We don’t develop your Business/Financial plan. We will provide you with templates, examples, and guide you through the process.
- We don’t develop your learning and assessment materials. We do provide examples, templates, and we will participate in the validations.
How long does it take to become an RTO?
The RTO initial registration process typically takes about six months. While in some cases the process can be completed in less time, in others it can take longer than six months, depending on the client’s dedication and scope.
In any case, Insources takes no shortcuts, and will not sacrifice quality to get things going faster. If you are audited without being ready, it will result in non-compliance, and consequently will compromise the success of the project.
